You chose Galicia as your home for a reason. The landscape, the light, the peace and quiet. A garden designed well doesn’t interrupt any of that. It draws it in, anchors it, makes it uniquely yours.

That’s what Verde Leria does.

Every project begins with a careful reading of the site: climate, soil, aspect, native vegetation and prevailing winds, among other factors. This ensures the garden endures, adapts and integrates naturally into its surroundings.

A well-designed garden isn’t just an addition to your home. It is a continuation of it, growing outward from the interior and into the landscape beyond. It creates spaces outside: places to sit, to cook, to retreat to and to play. Spaces that wrap around the house and elevate the entire property.

Verde Leria starts with a deep consideration of layout, circulation, levels, steps and retaining walls. These are the backbone of the space. Once these foundations are firmly in place, everything else follows: the planting, the materials and the lighting.

A garden generates wellbeing and beauty, because, above all, it is made to be lived in and enjoyed: light filtering through leaves, the sound of running water, branches swaying in the breeze, a floral scent that wraps around you. The studio places particular care on the emotional and aesthetic dimension of every project, to awaken the senses and embrace the connection with the natural elements.

Verde Leria is led by María Hernández, an architect with over twenty years of experience who turned her skills towards landscape design in 2020, bringing together two of her passions: design and the natural world. She is known for her precision at every stage of a project and for her ability to listen, to understand what a client is aiming to achieve, and to translate it into something real and habitable. Her dual background in architecture and landscape design means that every project finds its balance between the buildings and the living garden. Her work has been featured in Revista Exágono and Arquitectura viva. She has also given talks for industry professionals, including Cosentino.

Able to work and communicate comfortably in English, she will be pleased to translate your ideas into reality.
